Iran's foreign minister calls on Pakistan, Afghanistan to hold talks.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, called on both neighboring countries to pursue dialogue and strengthen good-neighborly relations, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. In a message posted in Urdu on his official X account, he emphasized that Ramadan is a time for self-restraint, reflection, and unity across the Islamic world.
Araghchi stated that it would be appropriate for Afghanistan and Pakistan to resolve their disputes through peaceful dialogue and cooperation. He also reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands ready to offer any necessary support to facilitate discussions and promote mutual understanding between the two nations.
His remarks come at a time of heightened tensions along the border, where recent cross-border incidents have underscored the urgent need for de-escalation and diplomatic engagement in the region.
