Italian media report that around 10,000 condoms distributed at the 2026 Winter Olympics Village were used within the first three days, creating a temporary shortage.
By comparison, Summer Olympics have historically distributed hundreds of thousands of condoms, with Tokyo 2020 providing around 160,000 and Rio 2016 over 450,000. Winter Games usually receive far fewer, which may explain the reported scarcity.
