Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will protect each other: India in trouble
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a joint defense agreement. The signing of this strategic security agreement between the two countries will play a role in maintaining regional security and peace in the Middle East and South Asia.
The main terms of this agreement are. An attack on one country will be considered an aggression on both countries. The two countries will jointly resist. Also under this agreement are military assistance, the goal of developing strategic relations and cooperation with each other in achieving international interests.
This agreement was signed between the two countries on September 17. Earlier, when Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia, he was given a royal reception.
This historic agreement was signed during the Pakistani Prime Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia. Shahbaz Sharif was received by Saudi Prince Salman at Al Yamama Palace. After the agreement, the two countries said in a joint statement that the two countries signed the strategic defense agreement based on brotherhood, Islamic solidarity and common strategic truths and on a long partnership of almost eight decades.
Saudi Arabia depends on the United States for its security. However, this agreement could change the US's strategic calculations in the Middle East. This is what international relations analysts believe. Riyadh is trying to get out of the US circle for security. The recent Israeli attack on Qatar is responsible for this, analysts say. Middle Eastern countries have started losing trust in the US after the attack on Qatar.
This agreement will work like NATO. If one NATO country is attacked, other countries are considered attacked and a joint resistance is built.
On the other hand, Pakistan's neighboring country, India, has started to review this logic in depth. India's Ministry of External Affairs said this in a statement. International relations analysts believe that this agreement could challenge India's regional capabilities.
This agreement has made not only India but also India's ally Israel uncomfortable. A defense agreement with a nuclear country will strengthen Saudi Arabia's strategic security.
